Over the last two days, in preparation for next weeks Harvest celebrations, the children in Nursery have been learning how to bake their very own Harvest rolls.
The children began by accurately measuring out their ingredients before adding it to the mixing bowl. The children in turn helped to knead the ingredients together.
The dough was then left to prove in the classroom – as the children learnt that yeast works best when in a warm environment. The children closely observed the dough “growing”. Once risen, the children rolled their dough into individual balls, before being placed into the oven. Their rolls came out golden and smelling delicious.
