Oscar has been doing some fantastic learning about caterpillars and how they change into butterflies. He made his own caterpillars whilst busy at home looking after some real life hungry caterpillars! They started off really small! Can you see how tiny they are? As they ate the caterpillars grew bigger and bigger. One day they stopped eating, hung themselves upside down and and spun silky cocoons around their bodies.
When they emerged out of their cocoons they had changed into butterflies. What an amazing transformation.
Look at Oscar holding his beautiful butterfly!
Oscar and his mum were really lucky to see one of their butterflies drinking from a flower after they released them in their garden. What a wonderful experience Oscar! Here is a butterfly I spotted in my garden. I wonder if any of you have seen a butterfly in your garden or when you are out for a walk… I think they love the sunny weather. We would love to see what you’ve been doing at home. Remember you can send us pictures of you and your work to postbox@rushall.walsall.sch.uk Next week we will be putting some new work on the home learning website all about different animals. We look forward to hearing from you! Hope to see you soon. 🦋 Love Mrs Farrington, Mrs Ross and Mrs Taylor 🦋
